Getting Ready for the Craft Fair . . .

So, I'm participating in a craft/vendor fair October 1st down at the American Legion.  I'm making 20 of these cards to sell (among other items), with various sentiments inside.  I wanted to keep the design simple, because I didn't want them to be difficult to mail.

For this card, the front is stamped using the "Courage" set (IB&C) and Night of Navy & Cherry Cobbler classic ink.  Cardstock used is Night of Navy, which I embossed using the Stripes folder, Cherry Cobbler, embossed with a non-SU! stars folder, and Very Vanilla.  Inside are various sentiments from the "Service and Sacrifice" set (IB&C).

Sweet Treats!

Oooooh, I just love Hershey's chocolate - especially when it's all jazzed up in these little nugget boxes!  It's hard to tell in the photo, but the boxes are also embossed with the Sizzix Spider Web embossing folder.  I made these little cuties using the Stampin' Up! EXCLUSIVE matchbox die by Sizzix and stamp sets from Gift Givers and It's a Wrap Holidays from the Holiday Mini.  I didn't have any orange colored ribbon, but I would've added some if I'd had it.

If you love this project, be sure and sign up for my Halloween "Boo-tique" on Tuesday, October 11th.  We'll be making some of these little boxes - hopefully, there'll be nuggets left to put in them when we're done!  Hop on over to my DBWS & click on the "Events" tab to sign up:  Stamp with Jeni - Stampin' Up!

P.S.  The background DSP in the photo is from the Pick Your Poison suite in the Holiday Mini - creepy cute!!
Happy stampin'!

Used for this project:  Basic Black & Whisper White cardstock; Pumpkin Pie classic ink; Decorative Label punch; Matchbox Die; Spiderweb embossing folder; Gift Givers & It's a Wrap-Holidays

Such a Hallo-weenie :)

Well, I wasn't going to buy any stamps until October 1, but I broke down & got some Halloween stamps this week instead . . . gonna blame it on daughter Rachel, since she wants to make cards & treat bags for her friends ;) yeah, that'll justify/enable me, right?  Actually, I do want to get a jump on my Halloween "Boo-tique" on October 11 (go over to my SU! website, & click on the "Events" tab to sign up!), so I really did need to get them now rather than cutting myself short on time later.

Five Fierce Cards!
Didn't they turn out cute?!  I used a little something from several different sets & mixed them up a little:  Out on a Limb (Holiday Mini), Jack All Trades, Wicked Cool, Dark & Dreary, and Grateful Greetings (all from the Idea Book & Catalog).

This first one was the inspiration for the set.  We made a card very similar to this at my 4th level upline's (Kim Williams') last meeting.

I didn't have the Good Grid background stamp to use on the tag like we did at the meeting, so I used the Netting background stamp on both my Very Vanilla pieces of cardstock.  (The card we did at the meeting looked nicer with the contrasting stamps.)

Here are closeups of the other four cards:

If you like these cards, be sure to sign up for my Halloween "Boo-tique" on October 11, where we'll be making a card, a treat, and a 3D item just in time for trick or treat!

Happy stampin'!

Dark and Dreary . . .

So I'm having a Stampin' Up! Open House on Tuesday.  Well, hopefully :)  Seems I didn't pick a very good date (or I maybe have a B.O. problem I'm unaware of ???  lol)   . . . Anyway, this is the make & take we'll be doing.  The stamp set is called "Dark and Dreary" - isn't it creepy-cute?!  It starts with Pear Pizzazz, on top of which is layered Cajun Craze (embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder), Basic Black & finally Very Vanilla.  The raven image is layered on Old Olive & I used Cajun Craze ink & a couple of punches with a little Basic Black grosgrain ribbon.  The main image is stamped in Pumpkin Pie.  It's a cute little 10 minute card!  Hope you like it :)

Happy stampin'!

Halloween Rosette Wreath

Paper rosettes are popping up EVERYWHERE this fall!  I just had to try making something using them, so this is what I came up with last night (yep, I made this cute wreath in just one evening!).  To make paper rosettes, you definitely need a scoring board, and what do you know?  Stampin' Up! has just introduced one, the Simply Scored, in the new Holiday Mini!

For this wreath, I used the Pick Your Poison DSP & Silver Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Mini, along with Pumpkin Pie smooth and Basic Black textured cardstock and a little Basic Black satin ribbon.  The stamped images are from Dark & Dreary in the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog.

If you'd like to learn more about making paper rosettes and just how fun & easy they are, hop on over to my DBWS & sign up for my November class under the "Events" tab.  You'll be amazed at what you can do!
