Gift Card Holders!

Just in time for the holidays!  I had some time at the crop I went to last weekend to experiment with some gift card holders.  I can't remember where I got the tutorial for the one on the right, but the one on the left is by Dannie of Dannie's Designs (she has some AWESOME free tutorials!!).

Isn't the coffee cup one cute?!  I love how it slides out of the "cup".  The other one is pretty nifty too.

If you'd like to learn to make these gift card holders and more, be sure to head over to my website, www.stampwithjeni.stampinup.net and click on the "Events" tab - I have a gift card holder class scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd where you will make 12 gift card holders for only $20 AND every class member will receive a holiday treat of a $10 gift certificate good on a $25 or more order if you place an order the day of class!

Wedding Whimsy

My niece, Julie, is in town this weekend for a wedding.  Which means great-aunt Jeni gets to babysit Hayley Rose for the day!!!!!!  In the meantime, Jules asked me if I'd make her a wedding card for Katie.  Didn't have time to come up with something original, so off I went to CASE Split Coast Stampers & my favorites Gallery to see what I could copy.  Vicki's card filled the bill nicely & makes use of some punches & embossing folders I already have.  The bridesmaids' gowns are apple, described as a "not vibrant" red.  I decided to go with Cherry Cobbler for the main color:

Had a bit of ribbon left over from my pre-Stampin' Up! days that just went perfectly on this card!  What do you think?!

"Witch"-ful Thinking

Took another homework break for some stamp therapy.  This is the first of six Halloween cards commissioned by a friend of mine.  She asked me to re-create the card in the top left corner of the Holiday Mini but asked if I could include the kitty somewhere on the card.  I thought it would be fun to perch her up on the top of the scallop trim :)

These little boogers are TIME-consuming but SOOOOO cute!!  Each piece was hand-stamped with Basic Black using the darling Out on a Limb set from the mini, the little witch and broom are hand-colored using Stampin' Write markers, then I hand cut all the images using our Paper Snips (LOVE these - just got 'em and don't know why on earth I didn't buy them sooner!!).  Punched out the moon from More Mustard using the 1 3/4 inch punch, hand inked the message (from the Wicked Cool set in the IB&C) on Whisper White textured cardstock using Stampin' Write markers for the two-color effect, and then punched it out with the scallop oval punch.  Used the scallop edge punch for the Rich Razzleberry trim above the Old Olive patterned paper from the Brights paper stack, added a little faux stitching with my white gel pen, and finally, I used the sweet ruffled ribbon in Lucky Limeade (from the IB&C).  I'm normally not much for using ribbon, but it makes this card even more adorable.  The card base itself is Old Olive smooth cardstock.  Since the images are so intricate, I used the fine point end of Tombow Multi glue to adhere them.  I always forget about good old Tombow, but it's great for when SNAIL or Sticky Strip is too big for the job.

Whew!  Only five more to go, but I need to get back to my homework for now.  If you'd like to learn how to make these cards or need supplies to come up with your own cute little Halloween or holiday cards, call me or hop on over to my Stampin' Up! demonstrator website to shop!

Wickedly Busy . . . !!

I have been HELLACIOUSLY busy lately!!!  The class I'm in right now for grad school is so miserably boring & filled with homework that not only does it give me a migraine daily, but I detest it so badly I can't even remember the correct name of the course - Financial something or other for non-profit health care - or something like that.  Spreadsheets and math - two of my NOT favorite things.  Anyway .  .  .  I took a little break tonight to work on a couple of commissions from two friends for thank you notes & Halloween cards.  Also (excitement excitement!!!) I'm going on a 4-day crop next week (WOOOOOTTTTTT!!) where I'll be redoing my wedding photos using mostly Stampin' Up! products & getting some more things ready for a November craft fair.  Stay tuned for some new blog posts in the near future!!

PS  Did you notice the absolutely adorable-icious little pink fabric basket holding some of my tools?  That, my stampin' friends, is a genuine Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek creation that she sent along with a retired punch I bought from her recently.  Lyssa is one of the top 100 demos in the U.S.!!!  Like a Stampin' Up! CELEBRITY!!!  Now that is definitely squeal-worthy!!!!
