Wishing for Spring

The weird weather we've had lately has me wishing it would make up its mind :)  This stamp is so cute - it's an a la carte stamp, Young Vermilion (#124092, WM, $7.95), from the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog.  It just begged to be made into a spring-y card!

For this card, I stamped the bird image on a scrap of cardstock, then removed the backing from a scrap of Big Shot adhesive sheet and layered it over the image, cut it out, removed the protective sheet, then dipped it in Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle (thanks to my demo friends on SCS for this idea!).  Then I got out my Big Shot and used the Framed Tulips embossing folder on Island Indigo cardstock, cut out a Top Note shape from a sheet of Twitterpated DSP and ran that through the BS using the SquareLattice embossing folder for some texture.  I also cut out the largest oval from the ovals die to put the bird image onto.  Finally, I stamped a sentiment from Petite Pairs, punched shapes using the Large Oval punch & the Modern Label punch, and embellished with a couple of Mini Brads.  I also sponged the edges on the larger oval and the punched shapes with Island Indigo ink to add some dimension.

Remember, Sale a Bration is going on right now - get in touch with me to order any of the supplies listed here - with every $50 in product ordered, you'll get to choose a FREE SAB item!

Happy stampin'!
