Grunge Rock Teen Birthday

Been wanting this set for a while for teen cards, so I was playing around with it today.  I tried to use colors that you could be for either a boy or a girl, so Cherry Cobbler & Basic Gray came out of my cardstock stash, along with some Basic Gray satin ribbon & Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and another Antique Brad (they're my favorites!).
I cut out the card base using the Scallop Circle die, folding it at the top & leaving a few of the scallops outside of the die so it wouldn't cut out a complete circle.  Ran the front through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder.  Then I used the larger scallop circle from the Scallop Circles 2 die and stamped all over it with Cherry Cobbler ink and the "diamonds" stamp from Grunge Rock.  The sentiment uses two stamps from Family Reunion and was punched using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  I have the clear mount set, so it was really easy to put both small stamps on one acrylic block and stamp one time!  (Normally I prefer wood mount, but some sets ARE easier to use in CM.)  The guitar does have a few rhinestones on it, but they're hard to see.  Finally, I sponged the edges of the Happy Birthday banner and the circle for a little dimension and popped them up with Dimensionals.

You could easily substitute another stamp such as "son", "nephew" or "daughter" and leave off the rhinestones for a boy, and even change it up to a square card to make it more masculine or change the colors to something more girly.

Happy stampin'!
