Keep Calm and All That Jazz

Hi Stampers!

Man, I was a little fired up at work yesterday.  Nothing crazy, but we've had some staffing issues over the past year or so, and things are finally settling down.  But DANG.  Just because *I* happen to have the BEST team members (just my humble opinion, of COURSE), it seems like the powers that be are just ALWAYS trying to poach my peeps to teach other classes or some such nonsense.  (HEY.  Hands off!!  We've got enough other staff now that y'all don't need to be stealin' mah babies!)

So I was typing an email gently pointing out that certain events had already been handled, and there was no need to be using MY folks for other tasks (nicely worded, of course - don't worry, Mom!) and two of my said awesome team were having a bit of a laugh at my expense - because my actual email and the fast and furious way I was typing just did NOT go hand in hand, shall we say??  Of course, everything worked itself out, as usual.  Have I mentioned I'm a bit possessive?  Have I mentioned we have an absolutely AMAZING staff where I work?  Yes, yes - that goes for the "uppers" too.  I'm not just partial to MY team peeps :-)

Thinking about this now has me laughing at MYSELF a little too (shoot first, ask questions later much??), so here's one I pulled from the archives.  "Keep Calm and Carry On" and all forms of it - memes, whatever - is one of my favorite sayings.

This card was created a couple years ago for a Split Coast Stampers CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge.  I hadn't blogged it previously since, at the time, the sentiment wasn't an SU! stamp.  However, the Keep Calm set is a hostess freebie this year, so, even though my original stamp wasn't from Stampin' Up!, it exactly matches our set (ssssssshhhhh, don't tell on me!!!).  . . . aaaaaaaannddd (drum roll, please!! it ended up being a challenge favorite that week on SCS (July 3, 2011).  Yay, me!!

I love the combo of Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla - so rich!!  When the Medallion background stamp retired, it was just sad.  (SUCH a great bg stamp!!)  I used a little Basic Black grosgrain ribbon for elegance, and a few Basic Rhinestones & Basic Pearls to add a little sparkle.

Anyhow - pip, pip, cheerio and all that jazz - with a "veddy proper" queen's wave good night to all :-)  Don't forget your best British manners when emailing at work, or anywhere else, for that matter - once you hit that "send" button, well - you know . . . . !!

Happy stampin'!
