The Rembrandts, Thankfulness, and Other Morning Musings

Hi Stampers!

I've mentioned before how much I love my job.  Not only because of what I do, which is nurse case management (SO much nicer than slapping bedpans around and chasing crazy naked old people down the hall in the middle of the night - yes, it's happened, and no,  it's NOT glamorous), but because of the people I get to go in and play with every day.  Because (oh, the joy!!!) my work is really more like play to me these days.

I'm not saying we sit around and goof off - heck no!  There's paperwork up to my ears, interviewing clients, teaching wellness classes, coordinating lectures, filing, chart review, being kinda like the team captain  . . . . you get the picture.  I ALWAYS have something that needs to be done.  But my co-workers - my co-workers are just the absolute icing-on-the-cake of my day.  I love something about every single one of them.  They are just the most awesome, amazing team EVER. . . . and YES, I do tell them every single chance I get how much I love them all and am grateful to work with them.  You've gotta tell the people in your life what they mean to you - we are never guaranteed tomorrow, my friends.

That being said, have you ever had the pleasure of working with one special person who becomes, like, your BEST work-friend?  The person you think, "Wow, where have you BEEN all my professional life??"  Because you know - you just KNOW - if you'd have met in grade school or high school, they'd have been the one person you'd have been getting into some SERIOUS trouble with!!  Nothing especially bad, but you could totally see getting hauled into the principal's office at least once a week for cutting up and being completely silly :-)  I've got one particular co-worker who is THAT PERSON.  We just "get" each other.  My day gets exponentially better just knowing we'll be working together on any given day.  Do we get along ALL the time?  Of course not.  But even when we disagree or get completely aggravated with each other, it's okay.  We know we're eventually gonna catch each other's eye over something ridiculous and just bust out laughing and it all will be well again.

Here's a little video of the Rembrandts, with the theme from "F.R.I.E.N.D.S."  It just about perfectly sums up how I feel about my work peeps, especially my "bestie":

I came up with a little card this weekend for my Calendar Club and it was with the thought of my wonderful co-workers/friends.  They go above and beyond every single day, and I am so grateful for them:

Bashful Blue is one of the retiring colors this year.  I'm not really sorry to see it go - it's always been a little too "baby blue" for my tastes - so I tried to man it up a little here with some Basic Gray ink :-)  I've had the Distressed Dots background stamp gathering dust on my shelf and FINALLY inked it up - man, I will be using this a lot more now!  Isn't it great?  Such a simple touch, but it just makes this card pop.  The stamp sets Pretty Postage and One in a Million are also just perfect here for what I was feeling when I created this little cutie.  As always, you know I can't leave an edge unsponged, and I love how it makes the little stamps (cut out with the Postage Stamp punch) jump off the edge there.
I hope you have F.R.I.E.N.D.S. who brighten your day, too, whether it's at work or outside of work.  Enjoy the week and keep on creating!
Happy stampin'!
