Are You Drowning in DSP?

Hi Stampers!

If you're anything like me, you have oodles of Designer Series Paper left over at the end of the Stampin' Up! year.  Or maybe you're just a paper hoarder (yeah, me too) and just aren't sure what to do with all that prettiness.  Well, my peeps over on Split Coast Stampers pointed out this video and I thought you all might enjoy it as much as I did.  It's a GREAT way to use up DSP and I can't wait to try it!

Jackie Bolhuis is the demonstrator who posted the video, and boy, am I glad.  In case you can't load the video, here's the link:  Gift Bags from DSP    Enjoy!

I think this would make a terrific class in the fall.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment if this is something you'd be interested in!

Private Stampin'Classes!

Hi Stampers!

Did you know you can request a private stampin' class with me?  Yep, I am ready, willing, and able to make time for you and you can even request a specific method or new papercrafting skill you'd like to learn more about!

This Sunday, I had a new customer/friend, Phyllis, over for a little Stampin' 101.  After we worked on some simple stamping to work out the "kinks in her ink", she was rarin' and ready to GO!

One of my FAVORITE stampin' techniques is Triple Time Stampin'.  This is super-easy but also SUPER impressive.  I busted out a couple of my favorite stamps & punches and off Phyllis went!  I didn't get a chance to take a picture of Phyllis' card, but if you can picture THIS card in Smokey Slate & Primrose Petals, that's what she did.  She was THRILLED with her results and plans on mailing it to her friend in North Carolina, who is also a stamper.  I just know her friend will be amazed at Phyllis' new skills :-)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  The most fun I have stampin' is meeting & making new friends!  THAT'S what it's all about!

I Love, I Love, I Love My Calendar Girls . . . .

Hi Stampers!

The third Friday of the month is Calendar Club here at my house.  I've already shared the cards we did with you in previous posts, but I wanted to share some pictures of my Calendar Girls stamping & having fun.

Here's my BOGO sales table set up:

The dining room table set up for stamping:

Aimee getting ready to try out the new Magnetic Platform for the Framelits & Edgelits.  This new product was a HUGE hit!!
Couple shots of the girls stamping.  We had a "newbie" with us, Phyllis.  Aimee, Ann, Jeannette & Michele were happy to teach her a few tips & tricks.  We missed Patty, though!

One of my FAVORITE parts of my Stampin' Up! job is holding Clubs & classes in my home.  If you haven't been over to play with my stamps & accessories yet, what are you waiting for?  We'll be on hiatus in July & August, but be sure to check my Events page for upcoming fall classes & clubs.  We'd love to have you join us for the fun!

Fortieth Birthday Frivolity

Hi Stampers!

Fun, fun, fun!!  My manager's wife threw her a 40th birthday party Saturday night & it was one of the best parties I've been to in a while!  Our co-worker's band played the party so there was great rock-n-roll & lots of people dancing barefoot on the lawn - what a total blast!

I always have a hard time deciding what to take to these "milestone" birthday parties, but it usually ends up being a bottle of something.

Decided to fancy it up with a little topper & Beth and Maria really liked it:

Here's the  birthday girl about to be serenaded by Zac on the ukulele & Cathy on guitar.  They did a very sweet rendition of KISS's "Beth".  I did video it, but it was too long to upload, so unfortunately, I couldn't share it here.

May your summer nights be filled with music, dancing in the moonlight, and good times with good friends!

Cards I Don't Keep on Hand . . .

Hi Stampers!

I have ANOTHER confession to make today.  I am TERRIBLE about keeping sympathy cards on hand.  It's just a quirk of mine (alright, stop laughing - I know I have lots of them, thank you very much!!).  However, my Calendar Club ladies requested a sympathy card for this week's Club, so I had to come up with one.  I did a little of my usual CASEing over on Split Coast Stampers but just picked out a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and here's what I ended up with:

One of my favorite color combinations is Pool Party and either Chocolate Chip or Early Espresso.  We've done a few cards using EE lately, so this time I went with CC.  Lots of dry embossing here.  I plan to show off the new Magnetic Platform with the Edgelits & Framelits this week, so this card will serve well for that.
If you haven't seen the new Magnetic Platform yet, you have GOT to come over and play with it!  No more fooling with Post-It notes to hold those dies down!!  It's the bomb-diggety & one of my FAVORITE new tools.  Give me a call & we'll set aside some time for you to check it out for yourself.  SIL Cheryl & I were SWOONING over it last week when she was here visiting & my order just happened to arrive.  I'm pretty sure she ordered it after seeing mine, lol!!
Card recipe:
Cardstock:  Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Pool Party, Chocolate Chip
Stamps:  So Sorry, Blooming with Kindness
Accessories:  Labels Collection framelits, Adorning Accents edgelits, Delicate Designs & Adorning Accents embossing folders
So, how do you like this card?  Leave me a comment.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Mosaic Madness & New In-Colors

Hi Stampers!

I've been having fun playing with the Mosaic Madness bundle, but I have a confession to make.  When I first saw this set, I was NOT impressed.  Same for the new In-Colors.  Totally not my style - or so I thought.  I really should know by now that a lot of stamp sets and colors that at first seem "yucky" to me really get interesting once I see what some of my fellow demos have done with them.  Very true of this set and the new colors!!

You'll recall I did a card for my SIL & downline Cheryl last week.  I liked the basic design so much, I decided to create another card around Mosaic Madness for my Calendar Club ladies this week.  I'll be encouraging them to play around with the stamp set, and also thought this would be a nice way to showcase the new In Colors:

I haven't gotten my hands on any of the new ruffled ribbon that matches the 2013-14 In Colors yet, but was pleased to see that the Primrose Petals stitched ribbon coordinated pretty closely!  I also don't have enough of the new cardstock yet to go around, but Blushing Bride was one of my favorite, unusual neutrals a couple of years ago, and since it's back in our Core Colors now, voila!  It made the perfect card base here.  (Plus I still have quite a stash of it!!)

Card Recipe:

Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Island Indigo
Ink: Craft White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar
Stamps: Mosaic Madness, Chalk Talk
Accessories: Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic punch, 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Primrose Petals, Basic Rhinestones

Hope you enjoy this card & it inspires you to try some colors and/or stamps that may not "catch your eye" the first time you see them!

Boho Wedding

Hi Stampers!

It's that time of the month again (no, not THAT time!!  lol) - Calendar Club week!!

My ladies asked for a wedding card & since I have the new Hostess Set Banner Greetings burning a hole on my stamp shelf, I thought I'd try to incorporate it.  Of course, you KNOW I had to pull out the Big Shot, too - another of my favorite tools.  I was inspired by this card on Split Coast Stampers but chose to keep my color scheme more neutral:

Haven't been invited to many weddings lately - I think I'm a little too old for any of my friends to be taking that step, and our kids are too young yet :-)  Although I suppose you could use this as an anniversary card too, no?
Card recipe:
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Certainly Celery (retired)
Ink:  Stazon Black
Accessories:  Boho Blossoms Punch, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Basic Pearls, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot
Stamps:  Banner Greetings (Hostess)
As always, thanks for stopping by and if you'd like to order these or any other products, just click on the "Shop Now" button to visit my Stampin' Up! website!

Seriously . . . Love Your Guts

Hi Stampers!

April's My Paper Pumpkin was absolutely adorable (I thought, anyway).  Unfortunately, I'd missed it since I didn't sign up until May.  Never fear, Split Coast Stampers to the rescue!  I was able to score a kit from another demo in PA who'd bought two.  I've still missed a couple kits, but I'm not gonna stress about it.  This was the only one I "seriously" had to have :-)

Card I made following the kit template.  I can't wait to make more & make them up "my way"!
Not sure why this stamp set cracks me up so much, but I guess as my daughter always says, "What are you, like, FIVE??"  The other sentiment says "you kick booty".
Cute little note from MPP

"What's in the box??!!"

Goodies spread out

Now if you recall, in the Welcome Kit, you get a clear block to use in future kits.  So when your future kits arrive, all you need is adhesive and you're good to go!

Seriously, love your guts!  Thanks for reading my blog - stop back soon!

Don't Keep Missing Out! Subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin!

Hi stampers!

If you saw the post I did recently on Stampin' Up's My Paper Pumpkin, I hope you were intrigued.  My June kit should be arriving soon!

I liked April's kit so much, which I MISSED, but was able to get from a nice Split Coast Stampers friend who had bought an extra.  Will be working on that kit this weekend to post some pics for you.

The thing about the MPP kits is that each one is different, and once the month's deadline to subscribe passes, you can't reorder past kits!  So I really encourage you to start subscribing before you miss out on any more.

Here's a photo talking about the kits.  Click on the link below to sign up for your monthly goodie box:

Pedicures & Pretty Cards

Hi Stampers!!

I said yesterday I was all partied out.  Well, there's more to that story :-)

My sister-in-law Cheryl is in town and she & I together are a recipe for FUN!!  Baby Girl graduated last Friday, along with my nephew (same high school), and along with my big ol' 50th birthday, Cheryl thought that was a marvelous excuse for a visit from Wyoming to PA.

Here's my Baby Girl:

I think that smile says it all  :-)

Anyway, we started celebrating the night before at Dave & Buster's.  Yeah, yeah - I know - my birthday's been going on for a couple weeks now - DEAL with it!!!

She keeps me busy when we get together, too.  The last several days have gone something like this:  Thursday after work - Dave & Buster's (see above); Friday - shopping in the morning and the graduation ceremony that evening; Saturday - my Baby Girl's graduation party (OK, that wasn't her doing); Sunday - church and then the casino with my mother-in-law; Monday - Starbuck's run, pedicure, shopping, lunch at Rock Bottom, back to my house to check out my craft stuff (did I mention she's also one of my SU! downline??) and drool over my new catty order, up to my MIL's for a glass of wine & visiting . . . .
Since I've only ever had two pedicures in my LIFE before, this was a real treat.  Here are our old lady toes.  I'm on the left - old, ugly, vein-y feet:
I go back to work tomorrow.  It will be TOO QUIET!!!!
After I got home this evening, I just HAD to play with my new stuff.  This card was made using the Mosaic Madness bundle and some of the new In-Colors, along with the Large Rhinestones.  The other stamp set is Chalk Talk.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this set!!  You will be seeing more of it on my blog very soon:

Somehow, I think this would be a PERFECT card to give to Cheryl :-)  She definitely brightens my life and I am so glad & grateful she's in my world!!

All Partied OUT!!

Hi Stampers!!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack :-)  Atlantic City was a BLAST!!!  I'd definitely go back.  The beach was windy & the water was cold - no, I did NOT go in - dipping my toes in was enough for me, thank you very much - but what a fun place!  Ocean & sand during the day and the casinos & boardwalk in the evening.  LOVED IT!!!  Speaking of toes, here's my pretty purple pedi:

Hey, what can I say?  It's my favorite color :-)
Speaking of purple, here's a card from the archives:
Now, do I think this is one of my better creations?  Honestly, NOOOOOOOOOO!!  But I wanted to show you all how our creativity can blossom over time.  When I made this card, I thought it was pretty darn spiffy.  Not saying it's a BAD card, but my style has changed a bit.  (I thought I did a smashing job on that bow at the time, though - ha ha!!)
Anyway, if you're anything like I am, you want to get better and  better at cardmaking.  I can help you with that!  Check out my "Events" page & see when I'm offering my next Stampin' 101 class.  Can't make it that day?  I'd be more than happy to arrange something that would work with your schedule.  I do prefer to do this class at my home so I don't forget to bring something, but we can definitely do a private class at your home, Panera Bread's public room, or anywhere convenient to you that we have some room to spread out!  Just give me a call or shoot me a text!

All Dolled Up

Hi Stampers!

Like me, I bet you love to create but just don't always have the time.  Stampin' Up! has created the CUTEST little kit and I finally got some time to play with it.

It's called Dolled Up Birthday and it's just adorable.  Here's what you get in the kit:

. . . and here's the card, made up:
If you love this kit as much as I do, here's the link to get yours:  Dolled Up Birthday Kit  Just be sure to enter my name as your demonstrator to get Preferred Pricing!
Speaking of birthdays, I won't be posting for the next little while.  Tomorrow (June 2) is MY birthday - and it's a big one - I'M TURNING FIFTY!!!  Aauuugghhhh :-)  I'm actually in Atlantic City right now, but had posts scheduled ahead of time for your blog reading pleasure.  As you read this, I'm hopefully either stretched out with my toes in the sand, or winning some cash in the casino!
Happy stampin'!
