Butler Crop: Creating Til I Dropped blog series

Hi Stampers!

First of all, did you know today is World Card Making Day?  I hope you're in a creative mood, because I think you should join me in making a card or two later on :)  With that said, today we have another card creation from the Butler Crop.  Like I mentioned, I worked mostly on Christmas cards, so let's continue with those for now :)

I've seen some really cute cards on Pinterest and Split Coast using the Pistachio Pudding stretch ruffle trim as part of a Christmas tree design.  For this card, I wanted to use colors that weren't the usual holiday red and green.  This uses the Tape It, Mosaic Madness and Christmas Messages stamp sets, and features the colors Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crushed Curry, and Brown Sugar.  A few Basic Pearls adds a little luster.

I had to laugh, though, because while most people realized this was supposed to be a Christmas tree, I did have one girl exclaim what a cute birthday cake it was :)

This is definitely a great card for my Calendar Club, but I think when we do it in class I'll also use my Thinlits card dies, one of which includes a small star cut out, for the top of the "tree".

. . . . aaaaannnnnd just to get you in a Christmas mood, here's my very, very FAVORITE Christmas carol of all time - David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth:

If that doesn't start getting you into a better mood, well, I don't know what will!

Happy stampin'!
