Butler Crop: Creating Til I Dropped blog series

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to Day 9 :)  Hey, I told you I "created til I dropped" - hopefully, you haven't dropped out of reading my blog yet.

This is another card I wasn't altogether thrilled about once I finished it!  Why do I show you these, you ask?  To be honest, I think whether you're an advanced papercrafter or a beginner, sometimes it's helpful to know that not every creation is a winner ;)  . . . and by no means do I consider MYSELF advanced, for that matter!

Anyway, I do mostly like this, but I think I'll simplify it a bit for my Calendar Girls by eliminating the embossing.  To get a little glimmer on the ornaments and the decorative strip across my scallops, I once again dipped my cutouts in Versamark and for this card, used Iridescent Ice EP.  It's very pretty but a little time consuming :)  I used the stamp sets Mosaic Madness, Christmas Collectibles, and Perfectly Penned - just inked up the "Celebrate" from "Celebrate Today" and punched it out with the large oval punch.  Perfect Polka Dots was the perfect embossing folder to add some texture to the background and Rich Razzleberry is nice, different color here.

How are you liking the cards so far?  Leave me a little comment and let me know!

Happy stampin'!
