Gorgeously Grunge-y Dare to Dream

Hi Stampers!

Today's card features more of the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  This is another of those sets that didn't really thrill me right away when I saw it in the catalog last June, but after seeing so many other samples done by so many other paper artists, it really grew on me.  I find myself reaching for it over and over, especially when I want some extra texture or don't have a DSP that is doing the trick for me.

See how I've used two of the stamps from the set to make a sort of birch bark-ey looking background here?  Kinda neat, huh?  I'm sure that this wasn't an original idea, but can't honestly say if I CASEd it from any certain person or not; so if someone sees this and thinks, "Hey!  That was MY idea!", please comment and take credit:

When I chose my three stamp sets this month to focus on, I kind of wasn't thinking that I gave myself only two sentiments to work with (from Perfect Blend), so yeah, I did have to pull out Apothecary Art and Loving Thoughts here.

I'm also digging on Basic Black with Baked Brown Sugar this week - y'all know how I get into my little "phases" ;)

The Stamp a Ma Jig is one of my fave tools for lining up sentiments, but a couple months ago I bought the Clear Mount Stamp Guides and have been trying to use them more.  Here's an example:

See how I've lined up the red rubber image along the line?  I know it looks wonky on the right side, but that's just the camera angle.  Trust me, it's straight ;)

Here, you can (hopefully) see that if I'd used the sticker on the
back of the stamp to line up the image, it would DEFINITELY stamp crooked.

Since my cardstock piece was so slim, using the Clear Mount Guide was a bit easier in this case to line up my sentiment.

Supplies:
So, there you have it.  Another card using Gorgeous Grunge.  It's definitely become one of my "go to" sets.  I hope you enjoyed this card and mini-lesson on using Clear Mount Guides!

If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and you'd like to order any of the supplies I used today, please click on the links in the "Supplies" list above to go to my online store.  I'd be honored to become your SU! demo :)

Happy stampin'!
