Catalog Premiere!!

Hi Stampers!

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is sneak peeks of NEW STUFF!  The highlight of our SU! year is getting to see the brand new catalog before the public.

This year, SU! held a first time ever event - a simulcast Catalog Premiere across the country in movie theatres all over.  We got to see folks from the corporate office live from Long Beach CA on the big screen (can't get any better seats than that!) showing us pages and projects from the new 2014-15 catalog.  SO.MUCH.FUN!!!

At the end of the evening, we left the theatre with our very own copy of the catalog, the new Stampin' Success (our exclusive SU! magazine) AND (can you even STAND it??) A FREE STAMP SET from the new catalog!!!!!

Here are some photos:

Goodie bags for my downline who attended with me!  How do you like our shirts??

Michon, Brittny, and me (Mama Hen of the Cross Country Crafty Chicks)
New stamp set, new catalog cover, Stampin' Success mag

Can't wait to use this new set, but it'll have to wait til Friday when I'm off!!
Would you like to get in on sneak peeks like this???  I'd be honored to have you join my team of Cross Country Crafty Chicks!  Now is a PERFECT time to join up - it's no obligation to try it out :)

Happy stampin'!

Stampin' Up! Retiring List is Out

Hi Stampers!

The Retiring List is out.  Remember, all items are while supplies last only!  If there is something you want, get it now by going over to my online store and placing your order directly :)

This list means that it’s time for you to pull out a highlighter or post it notes, sit down with a cup of something good and highlight the things going away.  Print the Retiring list by page number to help you go page by page.  Keep a Post-It nearby to tag the possible sets you might want to get before they retire officially at the end of May.

Remember that this is the first year that stamps will be “while supplies last”.

The Retiring  promotion runs April 21st – June 4th    The new SU Annual Catalog starts June 2nd so we will have some overlap with just the retiring products.  That’s a great thing so you can compare the new catalog with the retiring list to be sure of what you need to purchase.

For the stampin’ accessories – those are the inks, papers, ribbons, designer papers, buttons, brads, etc….Some of those will be going and what doesn’t sell may end up on the clearance rack, but we never really know for sure. Some of those are discounted already  – you will see those on the accessories list.

Retiring Lists – 2 ways to view
(Please note, if you see a FRA or ESP or DA, it simply means that those are also being retired in English as well as the other languages)
Happy shoppin' and stampin'!

You're a Whole Lot of Wonderful

Hi Stampers!

Well, we're down to the last card from March's crop.  Guess that means I'd better get busy creating, eh?

This sweet, simple little card was made using the Vivid Vases stamp, but I cut it apart so that the sentiment that was on the bottom (You're a Whole Lot of Wonderful) could be stamped separately.  Got that idea from several other demos!  Then I stamped the Thank You from Sassy Salutations on the front and stamped You're a Whole Lot of Wonderful inside.  Perfect!

You Make Me Happy . . .

Hi Stampers!

Just a simple card today.  I'm tired and on the run with things I have to get done on this lovely Good Friday.  This is another use of the See Ya Later stamp set from SAB.  I really do love this set - so much so that I ordered an extra one to throw in my "goodie box" for a giveaway ;)  Some lucky club member will get to pick it as a freebie even though SAB is over.  It's just too cute!

Apologies for a short post today - I think I may need a second cup of coffee!  May you have a beautiful Easter weekend, hopefully spent with family and friends.  If not with family and friends, may it be a time of reflection for you of God's goodness :)

Wetlands Birthday

Hi Stampers!

Yet another Pinterest CASE of one of my favorite stamp sets, Wetlands.  The original seen on Pinterest was done in black and white.  I changed it up to give it a warmer feel.

I'll tell you something kind of funny.  Someone on Split Coast Stampers had a call out for design team members and I commented that I'd like to be considered - and then realized all my posts lately have been CASEd cards.  Guess that's not likely to win me any points!  Nothing original here recently.  Ah well.  I'll be running out of my crop weekend/CASEd cards soon :)

Wetlands Birthday

Hi Stampers!

Getting down to the last of the crop weekend/craft fair cards, most of which were Pinterest CASEs.  This one proved to be pretty popular and I sold about 4 of them.  Guess people are always looking for a good masculine card.  I'll be using this one for Calendar Club, too.

I love the Wetlands stamp set and it's great here paired with Gorgeous Grunge.  Just a couple simple layers and it comes together beautifully.  Quick and elegant card!

This evening, I am EXHAUSTED!  Filled in for cardiac rehab today and it was such a long 10 hour day.  Sitting here blogging between commercials watching one of my favorite 80s movies, Working Girl, with Melanie Griffith (so pretty - wish she hadn't succumbed to thinking she needed plastic surgery!!) and Sigourney Weaver.  When they filmed Abduction some years back here, parts of it were filmed at my hospital, and I heard from several people that Sigourney was a really nice lady, a class act, who was friendly and down to earth.  Wish I'd have had the chance to meet her, but they sort of forbade us from going anywhere near where they were shooting :)  She plays a real b***h in working girl though!

Anyway, heading back to my movie now before I fall asleep!

Paper Roses

Hi Stampers!

Have you discovered the Spiral Flower Die yet?  It's kind of hidden away in the Occasions Catalog.  I absolutely adore roses.  Wish I could grow them, but I have kind of a black thumb when it comes to gardening.  So, I'll have to be content with paper roses :)

This is a little pot of paper roses I made for a friend.  So pretty and would you believe it only took me about 20 minutes??  Love it!!

Sweet Sorbet Thinking of You

Hi Stampers!

I'm going to miss that Sweet Sorbet DSP from SAB.  It had just enough going on to stand on its own for a card front.  Here's a little thinking of you card I made for the craft fair:

I did manage to snag one more free pack before SAB ended :)  Now I'm in "hoard" mode trying to decide what to do with it.  Make more cards?  Save it in my giveaway box for some lucky stamper?  Decisions, decisions!!

Flowering Flourishes Sympathy

Hi Stampers!

Sympathy cards are not really cards I enjoy creating, but I thought for the craft fair, it would be a good idea to have some on hand.

Flowering Flourishes is a very versatile stamp set.  I combined it here with Thoughts & Prayers, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso cardstock, and some embossing folders.  Instead of using ribbon, which isn't one of my talents, I simply ran the strip under the sentiment through a folder for some texture.  Voila!

I hope you've enjoyed today's card.  Leave me a comment!  That would make my day :)

Seriously, Some People Just Shouldn't Be Sayin' Anything . . .

Hi Stampers!

One of my online friends wrote a blog post yesterday that touched many of my other creative, artistic friends.  You can read it here.  Those of us who have that "creative gene" understand that this is what we HAVE to do - the artist that lives inside us begs to get out, in whatever way we are called to make things, draw, paint, play music (and sometimes ALL of these things) or whatever it is we do, or our souls will wither away.  OK, that's just a tad dramatic, but if you're an artist, whatever your medium, you know what I mean :)

Anyway . . .

Enough angst.  Here's today's card:

Designed and created by yours truly :)

I used a stamp from one of the My Paper Pumpkin kits, along with Happy Congratulations and Just Sayin'.  Instead of two step stampin' the lanterns, I ran several scraps of cardstock through my Big Shot with the Argyle folder and punched them out.  Super easy and really cute, huh?!

See Ya Later!

Hi Stampers!

Card today is a super-cute Pinterest CASE.  I sure wish the "See Ya Later" stamp set from Sale A Bration would carry over - but alas.  The exclusive freebie stamps from SAB are only around for a short time.  BUT happy happy happy that the dots embossing folder IS going to make it into the next big catalog.  It's a keeper!

I made six of these for the craft fair, and sold one to a very nice gentleman who spotted it and had to have it for his grandson, who he told me he calls "Gator" :)  I hope his grandson liked it!

Today I'm tired as I type, because it was class day here at Stamp With Jeni.  Tired but a GOOD tired.  I have SO much fun with my ladies!

We used the Spiral Flower Die to make three projects, which I'll share in a later post.  Creating 3D items is a fresh change from cards for us.

Ah well.  I do believe I will pour a small glass of wine & go soak in the tub as a treat to myself!

Petite Petals Cuteness

Hi Stampers!

Believe it or not, today's card is a Stamp With Jeni original!  (Ha ha.)  Were you getting tired of my Pinterest CASEd cards?

I've been on one of my "kicks" lately, pairing the Hardwood background stamp with the Petite Petals bundle.  There's just something about those little flowers and that woodgrain that begs to be combined.

I'm not completely pleased with this design, but I do like it.  What would you have done differently?

Today is another gloomy looking day here near Pittsburgh, but I am refusing to let it get to me!!  My dear friend Debbie and I have plans to head out soon for our first pedicures of the spring :)  Getting my stubby little piggies polished is always the biggest sign of warm weather approaching for this crazy old gal!!  Once it heats up a little, I'm as bad as any kid - the shoes come off and I'm barefoot all spring and summer - I have to confess that I HATE wearing shoes!!  (Bras too, but that's another issue lol).

Well, I'm gonna finish up my first cup of coffee and see what Deb's up to.

Happy Watercolor Wonder

Hi Stampers!

Have you noticed a bit of a Pinterest theme here lately?  It's become such an addiction!  The only thing is, I keep thinking, "Now just WHAT am I gonna do with all these ideas I've pinned?"  I imagine one of these days I'll sit down & print some out to put into a binder that I can take with me when I go on my next crop weekend :)

Anyway, today's card was actually designed by me!  How about that?  ;)

I love the Watercolor Wonder DSP.  It makes me giggle when people ask me if I painted the paper!  Nope, that's just how easy Stampin' Up! makes it for us to all look extra-creative!

I'm off to relax a bit now on this rainy day out my way.

Happiness is . . . Cute Cards!!

Hi Stampers!

Today's card is inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  I made this on my scrapbooking retreat a couple weekends ago, and the original had little tufts of tissue paper coming out of the bags, as well as the handles done with twine (SO CUTE!!).

I didn't have any tissue paper with me, nor twine, so did the best I could with what I had.  Isn't it adorable??  We'll be doing this card in Calendar Club for sure.  I think my girls will love it!

Well, I had a long day at work today, so this will be a short and sweet post :)

Get Well Cards

Hi Stampers!!

In honor of baseball season, I have a double-header for you today!  These are two get-well cards I made for the craft fair - one for a guy, and one for a girl.  The top one is my own design, and the bottom one is a Pinterest CASE.

I used DSP from Soho Subway along with the Gorgeous Grunge and Perfectly Penned stamp sets.  My Angled Tag Topper Punch made the whole thing super quick and easy!

Now here's another reason I just LOVE Pinterest.  I am certainly not observant enough to see just how well Stippled Blossoms goes with this scrumptious Watercolor Wonder DSP sheet, but isn't that just GORGEOUS?????  I also used the So Sorry stamp set - it's just tres elegante with this whole scheme.  My Stamp a Ma Jig helped me line up the sentiment AND the flower.

Hope these two cards brightened your day!!

Petite Pennants Thank You

Hi Stampers!

Well, SAB is over for another year!  Now we get all excited waiting for the new catalog to come out June 2nd (usually June 1st, but that's a Sunday this year).  I'm extra excited because June 2nd is also my birthday :)

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest and was one of the cards I took to last Saturday's craft fair.  I'm really glad that the Decorative Dots embossing folder from SAB is carrying over to the big catalog, because there are just SO many cute things I've seen done with it!  Doing the happy dance that it's going to be around for a while!!

This would brighten up someone's day, wouldn't it?  Came together in just a few minutes, too!
